Annual
Doxterity Hay Festival
Held during the first two weeks of August, the annual Doxterity
Hay Festival celebrates the hay as the cornerstone of our farming
community. Events include the Hay Bale Toss competion, hay arts
and crafts, hay rides, and competions for the best hay and hay products.
The
festival is a great time to try a local dish, dating back to the
famine of 1862--Burro y Papas, also known in local slang as "Ass
'n' Fries".
Music
at the festival is provided by KDOX. Food and beverages are provided
by our fine local restuarants. Don't forget to try our local hay
sodas, beers, and wines. (Proof of age required for alcoholic beverages.)
